Dev Downtime ("the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

For general visitors (no account required):

• No personal data is collected. We do not use cookies, analytics trackers, or fingerprinting. The dashboard is fully usable without providing any personal information.
• Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request URL) may be temporarily recorded by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) as part of normal infrastructure operations. These are subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

For email alert subscribers:

• Email address: Provided by you when you subscribe to status alerts.
• Service preferences: Which services you chose to monitor.
• Subscription metadata: Date of subscription and a cryptographically generated unsubscribe token.
• IP address: Temporarily used for rate limiting (stored for up to 1 hour, then automatically deleted).

3. How We Use Your Information

• Email address and preferences: Used solely to send you status change notifications for the services you selected. We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or sell your email address.
• IP address: Used only for rate limiting to prevent abuse of the subscription endpoint. It is not stored permanently or linked to your subscription.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Subscriber data is stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, a globally distributed key-value store. Data is encrypted at rest by Cloudflare.
• Each subscriber's data is stored in an individual, isolated key to prevent bulk data exposure.
• Unsubscribe tokens are generated using cryptographically secure random values.
• We do not store passwords, payment information, or any sensitive personal data beyond your email address.

5. Third-Party Services

• Cloudflare: Hosts the website, API, and data storage. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Resend: Sends transactional email notifications. Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for email delivery.
• Third-party status pages: We fetch publicly available data from service provider status pages (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, GitHub). No user data is sent to these providers.

6. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

All status data displayed on Dev Downtime is observational and aggregated from third-party sources. It is provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors, delays, or inaccuracies. This data should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision. Please refer to each service provider's official status page for authoritative information.

7. Your Rights

• Unsubscribe: You can unsubscribe from email alerts at any time using the link in any notification email. This permanently deletes your subscriber data.
• Data deletion: Unsubscribing removes all stored data associated with your email address (email, preferences, tokens). No residual data is retained.
• Data access: If you'd like to know what data we have stored about your email address, contact us and we'll provide it.

8. Affiliate Links

Dev Downtime may contain affiliate links to third-party products. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase or sign up, we may earn a commission. This does not affect the price you pay or the data we display. We do not share any personal data with affiliate partners beyond what occurs through your own interaction with their site.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
